Nourished Routes CIC was founded by trained Chef and Managing Director, Helen Mullings.
From a young age, Helen has enjoyed baking and cooking both for fun and for various business ventures. She has, for a long time believed that Cooking, Food & Nutrition education should be a compulsory part of the national curriculum. "We have to eat for the rest of our lives so we should learn to cook and have knowledge about what we put into our bodies".
During her BSc Honours Culinary Arts Management Degree, Helen learned about the scientific link between the mind, body and gut. Throughout her experience working as a Nanny, Helen was able to use this knowledge to support families with issues such as insomnia, food aversion, and challenging behaviour. She was able to achieve this through nutritional adjustments, bespoke physical activity and the introduction of mindfulness.
Understanding that prevention is better than cure, Helen wants to empower children and young people with the skills and knowledge to achieve and maintain optimum health, and so, Nourished Routes was born!
